Professional Experiences
During my 4 years at Endicott, I have completed 3 separate internships. The first began at LBA Marketing, a small agency in Andover, MA.
For my second internship, I worked directly under Endicott’s Director of Homeland Security Studies as a research intern.
For my final internship, I interned with Techkon USA for an entire semester, where I worked under the sales and marketing departments.
LBA Marketing
During my short time (~120 hours) at LBA, I gained hands-on experience in client relations, content creation, verbal and written communication, and email campaign creation. During my internship, I took in the opportunity to be a sponge: Soaking up all the knowledge I could.
As a Marketing Intern, I worked on content creation posts for LBA’s clients, which included many insurance companies. I also assisted with formatting and gathering content for email campaigns, website re-designs, as well as some short promotional writing tasks.
Department of Justice Research Program
You might have noticed that this internship has nothing to do with my future career goals (Marketing). If you did notice that, you are right! My sophomore year I was introduced to the idea of research. This ended up being something I absolutely fell in love with. I was connected with the Director of Homeland Security Studies at Endicott who I worked closely with for an entire semester. I was tasked with gathering a list of over 100 research articles about the current overdose crisis. The goal of the research was to eventually create a training system for law enforcement officials to understand how to interact with parents/loved ones who had overdosed. This project taught me about time management, dedication, and organization. At the end of my research collection, I had to organize and summarize each article. While Criminal Justice is not a career I want to pursue, this internship allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone and explore my newfound love of research.
Techkon USA
My internship at Techkon USA can be credited to my lovely tour guiding job at Endicott. While giving a tour during my junior year, I was approached by a father of one of the prospective students, asking if I had an internship lined up for my senior year (I did not). Long story short, his name was Mr. Adam and he is now my boss! I began interning with Techkon part-time my junior year (while taking a full course load). I then stayed on with them for the entire summer and worked full-time for my semester-long internship during the fall of my senior year. I am happy to report that my time at Techkon has been nothing short of amazing, and I will be returning to the company as a full-time Marketing and Sales Associate in June!
The specific thing that made this internship so special was the trust everyone at the company placed in me. From the very beginning, I was given tasks that many interns would never be allowed to do. I would attend and contribute in meetings, make sales calls (and actually sell products), send out entire email campaigns to the whole client base, and curate social media content. I was even able to attend a trade show in Orlando, FL with the company where I learned about communicate with clients, selling the brand/product, and overall business professionalism.
